What is buccal massage?
A targeted session for real relief
Buccal massage, also called intraoral massage, involves working inside the mouth. Wearing gloves, I massage your cheek and jaw muscles from the inside with one hand, working one side at a time. This helps me feel where the tension sits so I can personalise each session to you.
Long-term tension restricts blood flow and causes fascia to lose elasticity and glide. The aim is to restore flow and mobility to the tissue. In broad terms, the massage warms the muscles and increases circulation so they soften and move more freely again.
As the tension releases, your jaw feels looser and your face less tight. That’s why many people leave looking and feeling more rested.
Some benefits of buccal massage:
Eases jaw/TMJ pain
Helps ease jaw pain and tightness from teeth clenching and grinding.
Frees up movement
Helps restore movement, so your jaw opens and moves more freely.
Relieves tension
Helps relieve tension headaches that affect the jaw, temples, and neck.
Restores your skin's vitality
Increases blood flow to the area, bringing more nutrients and oxygen to your skin.
Moves you out of stress mode
Your face is rich in nerve endings. Slow, intentional massage can help your nervous system shift out of 'fight-or-flight' and into 'rest and digest'.
Clients feel grounded and calm after a session.
What to expect during The Buccal Massage Facial
Your session begins with a quick review of your consultation: your skin, where you hold tension, your lifestyle, and your goals. This lets me tailor the treatment to you.
After a quick mouthwash rinse, you’ll settle comfortably on the massage bed.
The treatment starts with a gentle facial cleanse. Before I work on your face, I release the larger muscle groups. Facial tension often starts there. Deep-tissue facial massage, facial cupping, and lymphatic drainage follow to improve circulation and support lymphatic flow. I use natural, organic skincare throughout, chosen to suit your skin.
Then comes the buccal massage. I work inside and outside the mouth, one side at a time, to release the deep muscles of your jaw, cheeks, and face, combining buccal techniques with myofascial release.
As tension in your face and jaw releases, you may notice your whole body relaxing. This happens because the treatment helps calm your nervous system and ease stress.
After your session, I’ll send you a personalised aftercare email with simple techniques you can use at home.
* The benefits of buccal massage build with each session, so I recommend regular treatments for the best results.
Make it a habit. A monthly facial massage, including buccal massage, for £75 instead of £85.

I had the most gorgeous treatment with Marta that was truly one of the best I’ve ever had… The Sculpting facial was bliss from start to finish. Every part of it was carefully thought out and done with a lot of intention.

DISCLAIMER The physical results of the Buccal Massage Facial can differ from person to person, depending on factors like overall health, lifestyle, posture and skincare habits. You’ll receive an email with personalised aftercare advice to help you maintain the benefits. Staying hydrated, eating well, and sticking to a regular skincare routine can significantly impact how your skin responds to treatment. That said, posture, facial expressions, and habits like frowning or clenching your jaw can work against those benefits over time, so individual results may vary, and I can’t guarantee specific outcomes. Facial treatments are intended for relaxation and general wellness purposes only. They’re not a substitute for medical treatment, dermatological care, or professional healthcare advice. Please consult your doctor if you have any skin conditions, allergies, injuries, or medical concerns. Clients assume full responsibility for their health and wellbeing during and after the session.
Buccal massage FAQs
Can buccal massage help with TMJ pain?
It can ease the muscle tension around the jaw joint, which is often part of TMJ pain. It isn’t a medical treatment, so see your dentist or doctor if the pain is severe or your jaw locks.
Can it help with jaw clenching and tension headaches?
It releases tension in the muscles you clench, which is often behind jaw pain and tension headaches. It won’t stop clenching on its own; that’s usually linked to stress, so your aftercare email includes simple things you can do at home between sessions.
Will my jaw feel sore afterwards?
It depends on your sensitivity and how you respond to the treatment. Some people feel lighter and with less pain. Others feel a mild jaw tenderness for a day that passes quickly.
How often should I have a treatment?
It depends on you: how much tension you hold and what you want from the treatment. If you've been dealing with a lot of tension for a long time, appointments closer together work better at first, so there's less time in between for old habits to creep back in and undo the work. Let's talk about it at your appointment. Or, if you'd like to make facial massage a monthly ritual, the Facial Massage Membership lets you enjoy each session for just £75.
I have a Sculpting Facial gift card. Can I still use it?
Yes. The Buccal Massage Facial is the same treatment under a new name, so you can use Sculpting Facial gift cards for it.
